As fall rapidly approaches and millions of kids get ready for school, it’s prime time for professional educational conferences as well. This autumn’s calendar features several conferences for those interested in integrative pediatrics.
First up in October (7-10) is the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) National Conference and Exhibition (NCE). Atlanta is the host city for this year’s conference, the AAP’s premier educational offering. The Provisional Section on Complementary, Holistic and Integrative Medicine sponsors several presentations at the AAP NCE this year, including Dr. Kathi Kemper’s fun and stimulating Herbal Jeopardy.
Later in October (26-28), the yearly Pediatric Integrative Medicine Conference moves to Chicago and debuts as Pangea: a conference for the future of pediatric wellness. Pangea represents a shift in focus from last year’s NYC PIM Conference; dialogue among healers interested in integrative pediatrics is the theme. As the web site states: “The Pangea 2006 Conference is a promotion of intentional dialogue, through which we hope to create new partnerships that support research and clinical practice. These conversations will be ongoing, requiring generosity, discovery and collaboration. Pangea provides a forum to discuss research, accepted practices and change, in order to foster comprehensive care for all children.”
In November (10-12), we move to Los Angeles for CAMEXPO West. For the first time, CAMEXPO will feature pediatric content, including a keynote talk by yours truly on Sunday the 12th. I’m honored to be part of this terrific faculty, including Drs. Christiane Northrup and Jim Gordon.
Hope to see you this fall, along the way.
